CNB is looking for a qualified, motivated, and client- and team-focused individual to join our team as Loan Operations Assistant for our ON-SITE location in Hillsdale, Michigan.
JOB SUMMARY
The Loan Operations Assistant is responsible for efficient and accurate boarding of new and renewed loans onto the Bank's core system, and loan system maintenance. Ability to multi-task and remain organized is essential to this role. Additionally, a Loan Operations Assistant processes daily system reports, quotes loan payoffs, assist lenders and clients via telephone, and provides quality service to internal and external clients.
DUTIES
- Inputs new Commercial, Consumer, and/or Mortgage loans from loan origination software to the Bank's core
- Pulls, reviews and corrects as necessary non-post, note exception, transaction exception, rate change, and interest flux reports along with other reports deemed Morning Reports in rotation with other Loan Operations Emails completed reports to designated management groups.
- Performs file maintenance changes for loans such as address changes, set up automatic payments, modifications, extension, or amendments.
- Scans or commits loan documents to Director for long term storage.
- Quotes and processes loan payoffs for Consumer and Mortgage
- Issues loan numbers for new loans as requested.
- Provides problem resolution as discovered or assigned by others.
- Performs loan rate spec changes.
- Provides phone support as part of the Consumer and Mortgage phone queues.
- Maintains and protects confidentiality of client information.
- Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
- Remains current in assigned training and continuing education for designation retention (online, video, in-house emails, telephone seminars, etc.)
- Complies with all regulatory requirements including Bank Secrecy Act and all others specific to their position.
- Performs other various duties as assigned.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS - INTERNAL
- Communicates on a regular basis with loan personnel concerning input of loans, spec changes, problem resolutions and report request.
- Communicates on a regular basis with customer service, IT and data processing regarding loan system reports and other loan procedures, equipment and supplies.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS - EXTERNAL
- Communicates with various vendors regarding loan systems, as needed.
- Communicates with title companies or realtor for payoff requests.

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of loan operations and loan-related computer systems, preferred.
- Passion for providing a stellar client service experience to all clients (external and internal) and ability to instill this passion in others.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (tactfulness, cooperation, courteousness and client friendliness) are necessary to represent the bank in a positive manner.
- Positive and cooperative approach when working with others.
- Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely and effectively, with attention to detail for visually appealing output and accurately proofreading publications.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively present information to clients and management, including via phone.
- Strong administrative skills with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve targets/goals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Ability to efficiently and accurately keyboard information, both computer and calculator.
- Strong computer skills with a proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to multi-task while paying attention to details.
