The Business Process Analyst is responsible for providing analysis skills, monitoring operational performance, identifying and recommending areas for development or enhancement, and developing action plans to drive processes for the Greater Texas Region. The Business Process Analyst helps the Greater Texas Regional team operate successfully within our healthcare delivery model by providing market analysis and thorough reporting to help the region meet goals. This position is expected to build and sustain strong working relationships with cross functional departments and relevant stakeholders. This position is also responsible for ensuring daily efforts align with the goals of the department and the company.

This position is located full-time in the Austin, TX office with regular work hours, M-F 8am-5pm

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Works collaboratively with business and support leads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to map and document current processes from end to end
  • Performs moderately complex business analysis
  • Conducts focus group interviews, research initiatives and identifies best practices approaches
  • Responsible for documentation management (development and revisions) of assigned processes: workflows, policies and procedures, letters, etc.
  • Synthesizes data, develops recommendations, and reviews findings with business leadership
  • Prepares review documentation including Microsoft Visio process maps and PowerPoint presentations
  • Working knowledge of Sharepoint
  • Facilitates a Business Process Review workshop with all SMEs present to discuss opportunities, issues, and action plans
  • Leads Process Improvement and Project Management initiatives as assigned by the VP and / or identified as a result of a business process review
  • Creates a process management system to monitor key performance indicators
  • Develops and maintains reporting tools: Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to help understand the business performance
  • Serves as a liaison between Operations and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancements and implementations, even acting as Project Manager where experience is warranted
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of decision support and data analysis experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a Business Analyst/Business Process role
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Superior presentation and negotiation skills
  • Solid management and organizational skills
  • Adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of executive management
  • Ability to successfully conceptualize an initiative, develop a plan and execute the plan through implementation
  • Willing to travel up to 15%



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Project Management experience
  • Health plan, healthcare or clinic operations experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft BI or Tableau
  • Experience in mobilizing teams and maintaining motivation to accomplish goals under stringent timelines



The hourly range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
