Job Description

Primary Location:

Springville, Utah

Onboarding and Orientation Manager: Assists with the hiring, onboarding and orientation of all new hires at location. Provides support to new hires for training and orientation for their new position to encourage retention and improve employee relations.

Works closely with all departments including sales, merchandising, warehouse, office, driver, service, local management team, and Human Resources to understand each department's requirements and personnel needs. Upon request of supervisors, the Onboarding and Orientation manager will conduct 'work-withs' with new hires to assist in training needs for individuals.

Assists with new hire orientation through:

  • Works with the Recruiting and HR Department to screen, interview, and select candidates for hire.
  • Provides daily updates with department staffing charts with each applicant's information, interview date/time, and status following interview.
  • Assists with onboarding and orientation training for all positions at the location.
  • Initiates communication with all supervisors who have a new employee within 30 days and seek to provide additional training and assistance that may be needed.
  • Works closely with recruiter to ensure candidates are receiving offer letter information, background check, and schedules start date. Confirms information in Workday for the new hire.

Conducts all new hire onboardings for all departments:

  • Introduces new employees to their position including all job duties, management introductions, and company policies.
  • Provides trainings including safety training per Admiral and facility requirements.
  • Provides ongoing support to new hires to promote retention and engagement with new employees.
  • Conducts follow up surveys with new hires at established intervals. Shares information with proper leadership teams.

Assists with the tracking of referral and retention bonuses with the HR and Payroll Departments. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree or two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical/regulatory instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
