The Department of History currently has 21 faculty members and an enrollment of about 175 undergraduate majors and 35 graduate students. The Department offers Bachelor's degrees, Master's degrees, and Ph.D. degrees. The Department of History in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for a one-year appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Essential Functions
-Teach undergraduate courses in the history of Early America, Atlantic World, Colonial North America, Capitalism, African Americans, Diasporas, and/or Digital History, including two undergraduate courses per semester ranging from introductory U.S. surveys through upper-level lecture/discussion courses. -No service responsibilities are required. -Limited research funding is possible. Minimum Requirements
Prior to effective date of appointment, all of the following are required: -Ph.D. in American History or a closely related field. -Experience in teaching courses in Early America, Atlantic World, Colonial North America, Capitalism, African Americans, Diasporas, and/or Digital History. -Teaching experience as collegiate-level instructor of record in a minimum of two undergraduate courses. -Evidence of excellence in research as shown by a dissertation chapter or journal publication in the area of American or transnational History. -U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. residency.
