Carilion Operations Manager - Practice Support - Remote

The Manager is responsible for the operations, activities, and staff of the department ensuring that strict and proper procedures are followed.

Works closely with staff, peers and service line management in the implementation of strategies critical to the success of the service line and organization. Communicates directly with physicians, clinical leaders, senior managers, other departmental personnel, patients and their families. Provides supervision and direction to department staff. Must be versatile and flexible in leadership/management skills and work schedule. Responsible for compliance with applicable licensure and accrediting standards.

Significant Job Responsibilities

• Supervises employees which includes the responsibility for, or whose recommendations are given particular weight, for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
• Ensures that all supplies, equipment and instruments ordered are replenished in an accurate and timely manner.
• Monitors and schedules preventive maintenance of equipment according to established parameters and ensures that instruments and equipment are maintained in proper work order.
• Participates in developing communications and in-service training programs and employee orientation programs relating to product usage and/or services. Collaborates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the department.
• Ensures established policies and procedures are followed. Monitors functions of staff to meet regulatory requirements.
• Oversees the technology systems, to include utilization, reporting, and updates/maintenance.

Education:Bachelor's degree or 4 equivalent years extensive healthcare experience required.

Experience:3 years of relevant experience is required. Prior experience managing teams, preferred

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Certifications may be required in certain areas.
