Date Posted: February 28, 2025 Under the direction of the Nutrition Education Program Supervisor, the CalFresh Healthy Living Nutrition Education Program (CFHL) Community Education Specialist 3 is responsible for the coordination of the CFHL Nutrition Education Program focusing on delivery of nutrition education to low-resourced youth, adults, and families in qualifying schools and communities. This includes supervising, training, and guiding nutrition education extenders, developing and implementing yearly work plans, evaluating work plan goals and objectives, and writing reports. This position will coordinate efforts and serve as a liaison with schools and agencies providing related services in Kings County. As part of program delivery, this person will build and maintain coalitions, partnerships, and tailor special nutrition education projects, assist with grant proposals as needed, and maintain subject matter competence. This person will collaborate with partners to implement Policy, System, and Environmental (PSE) strategies that support obesity prevention primarily in the school setting. The overall goal is to promote healthy lifestyles for low-resourced children, youth, adults and families. This is accomplished by direct teaching and extender training on evidence-based nutrition, food resource management, and physical activity literacy. This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed. The home department for this position is UCCE Kings County. While this position normally is based in Hanford, CA, this position is eligible for hybrid flexible work arrangements for applicants living in the State of California at this time. Please note that hybrid flexible work arrangements are subject to change by the University. Pay Scale: $49,200.00/year to $66,200.00/year This job is open until filled.
