The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Java Full Stack Architect w/AWS (Hybrid) to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build innovative, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the "team", drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.

Location: Des Moines, IA. (Hybrid) Work Authorization

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of complex software applications using AWS, SQL, Spring Boot, Java, Spring MVC, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring best practices and high-quality code standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions that meet business needs.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and release notes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating new tools and techniques into the development process.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimal latency.
  • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications:
  • 12 to 15+ years of experience
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • MySQL
  • JavaScript
  • Spring MVC
  • SQL
  • AWS
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, or Jest.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

The annual salary for this position is between $113,500 - $195,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
