JOB SUMMARY Works under minimal supervision to provide skilled mechanical work in maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and variety of other motor-operated equipment. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required

3 years of experience in automotive repairs. Intermediate computer skills required and flexibility in working hours.

EPA Section 609 Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification Upon Hire and Texas Motor Vehicle Inspector License Upon Hire
JOB DUTIES
- Maintains, services, and repairs air and water cooled engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, transmissions, front and rear ends, brakes, tune-ups, carburetors, electronic exhaust systems, wiring of engine and chassis, clutches, air conditioning, etc. on variety of motor-operated vehicles and equipment such as cars, trucks, tractors, lawn mowers, tillers, edgers, post hole diggers, power blowers, scooters, forklifts, tree sprayers, etc.
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance as required.
- Repairs vehicles and equipment in off-site emergencies as needed.
- Maintains and cleans tools and equipment and keeps work area in neat and orderly condition.
- May provide working supervision to semi-skilled workers of lower grade.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Work requires use of hand, shop, and precision tools and electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Work requires good knowledge of combustion engines, electrical systems, carburetors, hydraulics, automatic and manual transmissions, and differentials.
- Work requires accuracy in making adjustments to close tolerances.
- Work requires alertness and careful attention to avoid serious injury to self or others.
- Work requires walking, bending, climbing, lifting up to 75 lbs., pulling/pushing equipment up to 75 lbs.
