The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $66,300.00 - $99,500.00

Job Description

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs complex research tasks and activities; executes research plans following systematic and structured approaches that ensure the validity, reliability, and meaningfulness of research findings. Is ready to pivot and perform necessary adjustments as circumstances may require.
  • Conducts data processing to support comprehensive research on the skilled workforce, including hypothesis testing, forecasts, and program evaluation.
  • Reviews and analyzes national and state-specific data related to employer needs, skills gaps, workforce development, and industry demands.
  • Supports pipeline development by identifying and researching opportunities for growth in each region.
  • Utilizes software, scripts, or algorithms to perform data-related tasks (importing, cleaning, transforming, analyzing, displaying) and is ready to learn new automation opportunities.
  • Organizes and summarizes findings across research areas for key insights and actionable takeaways.
  • Assists in preparing data for national and regional conference presentations to showcase Craft and engage with attendees.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills, especially pertaining to information that may help identify gaps and trends in the skilled workforce.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret state- and program-specific data for actionable insights, while also identifying potential applications or relevancy for other areas.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable being proactive and researching an array of content.
  • Skilled at written communication, with the ability to summarize and convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of visualization tools to present data and information using charts, graphs, and maps to better understand trends, patterns, and outliers.
  • Ability to perform qualitative analysis with qualitative research software.
  • Experience using Stata or R, requiring little supervision.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or Labor Studies.

Experience

  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience conducting data and research analysis in labor economics, business intelligence, market research, or behavioral psychology in a professional setting.
  • Understanding of the dynamics of the labor market.
  • Experience preparing and delivering comprehensive reports, visualizations, or presentations for stakeholders.

Experience in lieu of education

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.

Position & Application Details

Full-Time Regular Positions (classified as regular and working 40 standard weekly hours): This is a full-time, regular position (classified for 40 standard weekly hours) that is eligible for bonuses; medical, dental, vision, telehealth and mental healthcare; health savings account and flexible spending account; basic and voluntary life insurance; disability coverage; accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity supplemental coverages; legal and identity theft coverage; retirement savings plan; wellbeing program; discounted WGU tuition; and flexible paid time off for rest and relaxation with no need for accrual, flexible paid sick time with no need for accrual, 11 paid holidays, and other paid leaves, including up to 12 weeks of parental leave.
