  • Mock Trial Chaperone - State Competition

    The Social Studies department is seeking a female chaperone for Illinois State Bar Association Mock Trial Invitational (i.e. State Competition), which will be held in Springfield, Illinois on from Friday, March 14, 2025 to Sunday, March 16, 2025. The bus will depart at approximately 1:00 p.m. from Niles West on Friday, March 14th, and will return by approximately 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16th.

    Chaperones will be paid a rate of $20/hour for all hours on duty. Meals and transportation will be covered. Chaperones will be expected to stay at the Mock Trial site for the duration of competition events and would be responsible for ensuring students are in their assigned locations during the event, transport supplies to competition conference rooms, help coordinate meals, and be available to support a student in case of emergency. Chaperones will be expected to travel on the bus to and from the event competition and Niles West. Unless supervising students, meal periods are not compensable.

    The paid working hours will approximately be the following:

    • Friday, March 14th - 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

    • Saturday, March 15th - 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

    • Sunday, March 16th - 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    Support Staff or Para employees who have the approval of their direct supervisor to chaperone should enter a Professional Out of District day of leave for their absence.

    All hours worked outside their normal working day would need to be clocked to the Chaperone position.
