Summary Electronic Tech II's apply technical knowledge to perform maintenance, installation, and repair of aircrew simulators and trainers across all contract platforms and domains. Responsible for performing basic operation, complete pre and post flight inspections, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on highly complex flight simulators. Technicians will evaluate and troubleshoot user problems and system malfunctions on complex networked computer systems, visual & display systems, laser & weapon simulations, video & audio systems, high voltage systems, and interface & peripheral systems. The ability to troubleshoot and repair to the sub-component level and beyond is required. Technicians are responsible for accurately entering and maintaining documentation of repairs, inventory, and other associated documentation in MIS. Technicians must be able to operate common tools including digital multi-meters as well as other complex test equipment and hand tools. Perform evaluation, troubleshooting, calibration, adjustment, testing, maintenance, and installation of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, computer, and visual display components. Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Read, understand and work form schematics, engineering drawings, written and/or verbal instructions. Troubleshoot and repair analog and digital electronics to the system, subsystem and component level. Select, set up and operate test equipment. Observe, analyze, record, and report test data and when appropriate, makes necessary repairs. Prepare hardware maintenance schedules and perform maintenance. Maintain appropriate calibration and inspections records. Validate technical manuals and data through interpretation and use of drawings, manuals, and vendor documentations. Perform repetitive or standard production assembly operations on electronic or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as CCA's, terminal boards, panels, consoles, drawers, frames and cables. Perform standard Daily Operational Readiness Test (DORT) on all training devices. Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks and inspections on all training devices. Assure training device are maintained according to published procedures and standards. Generate work orders and address discrepancies observed during applicable shift and enter in maintenance information system (MIS). Clean training devices, computer rooms, briefing areas, and work areas as required. Responsible for those duties as specified in the maintenance, quality, safety, and other company plans. Perform other related and ancillary duties as required. Qualifications and Education Requirements Qualified candidate should have completed at least one of the following: a BA/BS in an electronics technology; or received military electronics training; or obtained equivalent training/experience. Must have broad simulation/electronic/aircraft system level knowledge combined with specialized training in visual, computer, display, or avionics disciplines. Have major system level maintenance experience and complex fault isolation abilities. Prefer 5 years of demonstrated competence through satisfactory progressive performance in maintenance program. Prefer 3 years' experience in all major areas, systems, and subsystems of those trainers being supported.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. Occasional exposure to heat, cold, darkness and loud noises. Physical Demands Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds over head. Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator. Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under the device. Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
