Pay: $21.18 - $32.05 an hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Position Summary

The Finance Department at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science invites applications for a full-time Staff Accountant. Under the supervision of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will provide accounting support, including general ledger journal entries, account analysis, recordkeeping, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide support to the Accounting function of the University and Health Clinics. Specific support tasks may include:

  • Prepare journal entries for assigned areas including prepaids and certain payroll liability accounts, among others
  • Prepare monthly account analysis, ensuring reconciling items are resolved timely
  • Perform expense transfers
  • Perform internal audit procedures (e.g. review approvals for consistency with the RFU Approval Hierarchy)
  • Support cash handling and deposits in accordance with the Cash Management Policy
  • Provide back-up assistance to certain functions and processes
  • Adhere to internal controls while driving continuous process and documentation improvement
  • Maintain appropriate filing systems, including physical and electronic records
  • Build strong relationships with departments across the University and Health Clinics
  • Contribute to the success of the University by performing all other duties as assigned

Conditions of Employment

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Four years of experience in a related accounting position or related field
