Role Summary

The ADMT LLC has awesome teams distributed across the US and Europe. As the Sr Mgr, Software Engineering, you will be responsible for the technical teams, including building up new teams and structures. You support the teams in finding the right balance between technical excellence, maintaining a high customer focus and reliably deliver product increments. The role includes technical leadership as well as people management.

The engineering teams use modern languages (e.g., Kotlin, TypeScript) in combination with cloud services (e.g., AWS DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, RDS and Kubernetes) and are responsible for the discovery of what product increment to deliver next, as well as the full software lifecycle, including testing and operating the services ("you build it, you run it").

Role Responsibilities

Fleet Management System and ADMT Cloud development

* Build, form and lead some world-class teams and their engineering managers in a servant leadership style

* Taking an active role in shaping and developing the tech architecture and culture

* Collaborate proactively with multiple (distributed) teams (US & Europe)

* Influence the product roadmap for the ADMT US offer

* Deliver SW products, microservices, architectures for the US Go to market for ADMT for MaaS and TaaS offers.

* Translate business and product requirements in SW solutions

* Oversees all the SW production releases

* Contributes to the SW development roadmap, strategic planning, production rollout planning

* Supports in tailoring and deploy software tools, processes and metrics

* Creates a culture to deploy software incrementally to meet very fast-paced development

Strategy & Operational Management

* Develops strategy & technology competence and provide expertise support to Global ADMT teams for Fleet Management solutions and ADMT Cloud.

* Spearheads new in-house development projects for various technical domains

* Own the relationship with contract manufacturer, and lead strategic discussions and negotiations

* Manages supplier partnerships and engagements

* Identify and mitigate project technology risks and execution risks

* Locates, acquires, and retains extraordinary talent for the ramp-up phase of the Engineering Team and for future growth

* Monitor compliance with relevant regulations, statutes, Board Directives, process standards (including in respect of Golden Rules and Product Compliance), procedural/operating instructions and occupational safety regulations using appropriate management controls (dual-control principle)

* Develop and monitor department budget

* Assure the qualification of employees for the defined tasks

Qualifications

Years of Relevant Experience:

* 10+ years of professional experience, including automotive or related experience

* 3+ year of experience managing technical direction, regardless of direct management

* Preferred: 2+ years in the autonomous vehicle space with direct experience in L4 autonomy systems required

Education:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or comparable education required

* Master's or PhD Degree in Engineering or comparable education preferred

Required General Skills:

* Excellent team leadership, resource management and conflict resolutions skills.

* Excellent written, communication and presentation skills with top management, internal / external partners, stakeholders, and project affiliates.

* Excellent English language skills.

* Ability to understand and extract action plans from complex technical discussions and translate into succinct messaging for cross-functional status reporting.

* Exceptional understanding of technical systems and architecture, with the ability to think beyond current reality, and define future requirements to ensure the extensibility of the system.

Knowledge or certifications unique to this role

* Deep understanding of building digital products and modern software development

* Knowledge of software platform development and corresponding software. Experienced with introduction into mass production of the same.

* Having a strong focus and past hands-on experts experience in technical architecture and enabling teams in their delivery

* Strong network in engineering community to hire extraordinary talent SW development

Desired Specialized Skills:

* Expert Experience in SW architectures & development in autonomous Ride Hailing/Ride Pooling technologies

* Rapid prototyping and validation

* Approaches for cloud oriented mobile internet applications

* User-interface architecture for mobile and automotive systems

* Ability to communicate on/to top-management level

* Project management of large, complex multi-party projects

Work Flexibility:

* Accommodation for working time zone differences between international locations as needed

* Travel is estimated to be 10-25%.

* Role requires flexibility in daily schedule, including early morning meetings with Europe, evenings for the West Coast, and weekends for events and travel

In Belmont, CA, this position has an expected base salary range between $245,000-$265,000.
