Overview

At TDS Telecom, our interns are the future of our company. We are seeking a motivated individual who is passionate about problem solving and delivering technology solutions to move our business forward. As a Data Analyst & GIS Intern, you will build a solid foundation for you career by gaining hands-on experience from working on multiple projects with a wide-variety applications, including GIS, addressing, records and data review.

Work Schedule: This is a year-round internship (ideal start date is early April). We require approximately 20+ hours per week during core business hours (Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm CST), but you can work up to 40 hours per week if your schedule allows.

Pay: The hourly compensation for this position is $17.00.

Location: This is a remote position.

Intern Resources:

Our intern's partner with seasoned professionals to help with executing high-priority company projects and day-to-day operational activities. During your internship, TDS offers you:

Our ARG meets monthly, where you can hear about other interns' projects and engage with leaders from various teams. The group also hosts networking events to help you build valuable connections, with the goal of helping you secure full-time employment upon graduation.

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

In this position you will have the opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech learning environment to evaluate leading-edge technologies and develop systems in support of and the continuous improvement within the TDS Service Addressability Team within our Construction & Service Enablement business unit. Your existing problem solving, communication, and organizational skills will be expanded by learning to integrate a broad spectrum of technologies into day-to-day operations that will build a solid foundation for your career. These include but are not limited to:

  • Working with GIS applications
  • Producing, formatting, and publishing support materials and reports
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), Visio

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Desire to create innovative ways to bring new visualization techniques to project stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate the vision and goal of projects to capture an audience
  • Capable of handling multiple project tasks simultaneously
  • Writing and reviewing SOPs and supporting file in support of team success
  • Skilled at leading a variety of individuals in an effort to work towards a common goal
  • Ability to help organize and lead cross-functional teams


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Must be able to complete at least 20+ working hours between Monday - Friday 8:00AM-5:00PMCST
  • Must be 18+ years of age

Other Qualifications

  • GIS experience including GIS applications or GIS certification preferred
