Haskell's Legal Team supports our operations across the US, including including customer agreements within the design and construction industry, non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements, teaming agreements, subcontract agreements, and IT/technology agreements - as a start. We are excited to open a Legal Internship role and ideally, seek either a 3L (third-year law student) or Spring graduate interested in taking the bar exam shortly after graduation.

Job Responsibilities:

    Draft, review, and revise a variety of agreements, including customer agreements, non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements, teaming agreements, subcontract agreements, and IT/technology agreements.
  • Research case law, legislation, laws, statutes, rules, and regulations affecting corporate and construction industry.
  • Draft memorandums relevant to corporate matters, current trends in the law, and construction industry.
  • Draft and review notices to subcontractors and consultants,
  • Assist in maintaining corporate records, including officers and directors' lists.
  • Assist in management of executed contracts.
  • Engage with legal team in negotiating terms and conditions of certain agreements.
  • Engage with project teams on a day to day basis.
  • Other corporate legal duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Third Year Law Student (3L) or Spring graduate with hopes of possible full-time placement upon taking the bar exam (July for graduate).

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:

  • Knowledge of contractual and legal concepts.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Negotiating and drafting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and redlining in Microsoft Word.
  • Experience or familiarity with construction industry and terminology.
  • Understanding of commercial and corporate law.
  • Ability issue spot and recognize risk.
  • Keep confidential information

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
