Job Overview:

Are you a recent graduate looking to kickstart your career in engineering and manufacturing? Join our team as a Chemical Engineerin Training and take on a hands-on role in overseeing and improving our foam production processes. This position offers the opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge in a dynamic environment, working alongside experienced professionals to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in our operations.

You'll play a vital role in managing foam production, troubleshooting processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role is perfect for individuals eager to learn, contribute to innovative manufacturing practices, and develop their skills in a fast-paced environment. This role eventually graduates the program into a Chemical Engineer with upward mobility in other management roles within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety is the top priority in all Pourline department activities and enforce adherence to safety procedures.
  • Oversee Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) activities for the pouring department.
  • Monitor daily foam production and supervise the pour line hourly workforce as part of the training process.
  • Adjust formulas as needed to maintain products within specifications and manage the line in the absence of the Technical or Pour Line Manager.
  • Participate in HR-related activities for the pour line team, including appraisals and disciplinary actions, alongside the Technical Manager or Pourline Manager.
  • Conduct trials to develop and improve manufacturing processes and foam formulations as part of the pour line team.
  • Provide analytical expertise for process improvements, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Statistical Quality Control (SQC).
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and resolve process issues.
  • Direct and facilitate continuous improvement teams and training initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory control and manage the ordering of chemicals/raw materials.
  • Handle all pour line functions in SAP with full proficiency.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (required).
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Technical Skills:

    • Knowledge of SPC/SQC and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
    • Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude to troubleshoot foam-making problems.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Minitab proficiency is a plus).
    • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (preferred).


  • Certifications:

    • Must complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training for proper hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling.
