Piping Designer - Position and Responsibilities
As a Piping Designer with Middough, you will create and establish complex designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. In this role, you will also apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects to ensure that all established Company design standards and practices are followed.
- Establish simple designs consistent with piping good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards.
- Collect and prepare data/information and generate design and detail drawings including orthographic, isometrics, etc.
- Apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects and provide guidance and leadership to drafters to ensure that all established Company and client design standards and practices are followed.
- Manage and maintain the Project Documentation such as flat files, reference/stick files, and CAD drawings.
- Coordinate work tasks with Piping Manager.
- Interact with internal teams and participate in meetings to convey project design and identify scope changes.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent, preferred but not necessary.
- 5+ years of experience in designing piping systems in a refinery or petrochemical setting.
- 5+ years of experience in piping designer experience working with isos, creating engineering and/or construction packages, field sketching, and climbing.
- Demonstrated design in refining or petrochemical experience preferred.
- MicroStation 2D experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Codes and Standards
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities for efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
- This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence and auto insurance coverage.
