Position Title: Sr. Director of Dining Services II- Point Park University

Reports To: Director of Operations

Job Summary

As the Senior Director of Dining Services (Sr DDS) at Point Park University, you will oversee and manage all university dining operations, ensuring that we provide outstanding service to students, faculty, and staff. You will be the primary point of contact with university administrators responsible for food service, lead a diverse team of dining professionals, and manage both operational and financial goals within your account. This is a dynamic, high-visibility role that requires exceptional leadership, relationship-building, and a strong commitment to meeting and exceeding client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of dining services professionals to deliver exceptional food service to the university community. Manage a large team or multiple teams across dining locations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at Point Park University. Serve as the primary liaison between the university and Chartwells, attending key client and community events to promote our brand.
  • Drive the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs), including profitability, safety, engagement, and customer satisfaction. Evaluate team performance, set clear goals, and support professional growth through coaching and development.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of quality food service operations by making strategic decisions that balance risk, reward, and short- and long-term implications. Support functional areas like safety, marketing, nutrition, and culinary to ensure all operational standards are met.
  • Oversee adherence to USDA regulations and company policies, conducting regular audits for food safety, sanitation, and overall compliance. Ensure timely completion of all required reporting.
  • Own the financial performance of the account(s), including accurate reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Manage expenses and revenue streams to drive profitability while maintaining high service standards.
  • Retain and expand client relationships by identifying cross-sell opportunities, participating in the rebid process, and continuously looking for ways to enhance service offerings.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, education, safety, and accountability. Promote diversity and inclusion within the team, ensuring a supportive and collaborative environment.Regularly assess risks and make informed decisions in collaboration with team members and leadership to address challenges proactively and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of management experience in food service, hospitality management, or other relevant areas, ideally in K-12 or higher education food service.
  • Prior experience in an education setting is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading dining services operations, with strong financial and business acumen.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, drive operational performance, and achieve financial goals.
  • Strong initiative, critical thinking, and excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and POS software.
  • A proactive, positive, and resilient mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
