Closing Date: March 16th, 2025, or upon receipt of the first 50 applicant submissions Community Intervention Specialist - Landlord Engagement Department of Health and Human Services Hourly Range: $28.22 - $32.85 The mission of the Milwaukee County Department of Health & Human Services is to enhance the quality of life for individuals who need support living healthy, independent, and safe lives within our community. Job Summary: The Community Intervention Specialist (CIS) supports the Housing Services Division. This position primarily focuses on recruiting, training, educating, and retaining property owners to participate in County housing assistance programs. In addition to owner outreach, this role supports a caseload of individuals in securing housing and providing post-placement housing retention services. The Landlord Engagement Specialist is essential in linking housing resources, advocating for clients, and ensuring a sustainable and cooperative housing environment. The CIS is responsible for working with community members, property partners, and program participants across Milwaukee County. Job Duties:
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of housing programs and HUD regulations as they relate to housing assistance programs; knowledge of available local housing market and stakeholders; knowledge of the permanent supportive housing model; knowledge of case management models and best practices; knowledge of violence reduction efforts; ability to work with individuals with a wide range of needs. Experience working in real estate or property management strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to form and maintain good working relationships, work independently, set priorities, and accountability.
