Seasonal Zoo Worker - Rides and Attractions (18+)

Milwaukee County Zoo

Hourly Pay Range: $10.36 - $16.30

Job Summary: The Zoo Workers in the Rides and Experiences department provide great customer service to patrons while operating the Train, Sky Adventure Ropes Course, Zipline, Mobility Rentals, Carousel, and Sky Safari Sky Glide. To deliver great customer service to our guests, the Zoo Worker will need to provide up-to-date knowledge on zoo exhibits, pricing, rates, and a friendly delivery of the services we provide.

Essential Responsibilities:



  • Accurately and efficiently complete all transactions with guests using point-of-sales system. Transactions may be completed with cash, card, tap, gift card, or zoo pass.
  • Operate rides, learn safety procedures, assist guests on and off rides, and provide introduction speeches to guests about safety during the ride or experience.
  • Provide timely, attentive, accurate, and upbeat service to zoo patrons, while making sure their needs are met in a manner that upholds the standards of the Milwaukee County Zoo.



Minimum Requirements:



  • Knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50lbs.
  • 18 years of age or older at the time of the application.



NOTE: This original application is open to permanent residents of the United States. Appointee must establish residency in the state of Wisconsin within six months of start date and maintain such residency during incumbency. In accordance with Section 11, Rule 3 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
