Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the large / complex / multifunction projects assigned, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization. The Senior Project Manager role will be responsible for managing projects from the Initiation Phase through to Closure, while working to address 1) Business Application deployment and optimization and 2) Business and Process Change Management initiatives and when required 3) Infrastructure and Security projects. They will follow and use existing PMO tools for providing consistent deliverables. They will provide assistance to Project Managers within the team on all aspects of project management and delivery of change


Responsibilities


    Leading cross-functional teams through meetings and progress measurement activity which bring projects to completion both on time and within budget. Provide accountability and oversight for plans and teamwork assignments.

  • Develop and schedule team responsibilities; technical/operation requirements; detailed project plans, project budget, time-lines, resources, specifications, etc. in order to accomplish project goals; continually follows up with team to ensure goals are achieved
  • Manages projects, including leading project meetings; documents issues, action items, risks, budget, user requirements, or deliverables; updates project schedules and plans, project communications, budget tracking, etc.
  • Identifies and tracks project issues, resolves issues where possible or escalates to higher management when needed; assesses and manages risks and drives mitigation activities.
  • Evaluates deliverables prepared by team to ensure work meets specifications and maintains a high level of quality.
  • Chairs regularly scheduled meetings in order to provide project updates and information.
  • Manages project from initial concept through final implementation, utilizing established guidelines and procedures.
  • Provide a collaborative environment and culture
  • Presents operational metrics regularly to the senior leadership team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards


Qualifications

Education
* Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Experience
* 5+ years Experience in Project Management, Change Management, Business Application Deployment, and/or knowledge of Business Process Management. (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills High

* Strong attention to detail, ability to organize, and analytical capability High

* Knowledge or/and hands-on experience with PMO (Waterfall or Agile methodology) essential. Knowledge with logistics operations ideal, not required Low

* The ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and multiple projects High

* Advanced knowledge of MS business suite/TMS/AS 400 Medium

* Ability to build and explain complex spreadsheet models and logistics strategy to internal and external customers High

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment. High

* Strong attention to detail and organization skills. High

* Ability to manage vendors and project stakeholders High

Licenses and Certifications

* Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI - Program & Project Management\Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI (Required)
