Experienced Customer Development Chemist Springdale, PA Are you an experienced Chemist looking for the next step in your career? We have a role that will challenge you to grow in your experience and knowledge of chemistry and raw materials management. As a Customer Development Chemist, you will join the dynamic, versatile Industrial Coatings team to lead and execute raw materialand product stewardship projects across a variety of coatings chemistries and markets. You will contribute to the organization's sustainability goals and business targets by reducing the use of restricted substances and improving raw material competitive advantages. You will work on-site at our Springdale, PA site and report to the Technical Supervisor. Responsibilities: Coordinate and execute activities to support corporate raw material initiatives and aid in technical raw material decision-making Work with technical, procurement, and commercial teams to identify and drive raw material cost savings and supply security projects Support Americas operationson raw material optimization projects, growth projects, and supply issues Develop strategy for PPG Restricted Substances and support any relevant new/impending regulatory regulations Provide support for customer and production-relation issuesas needed Ensure alignment to standard methodologies and best practices for formulation creation Qualifications: Degree in chemistry or related field required Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience required OR Master's degree with relevant experience Strong knowledge of coatings formulation, manufacture, application, and testing procedurespreferred Supply chain and/or manufacturing experience is preferred #LI-Onsite About us: Here at PPG we make it happen, and we are looking for candidates of the highest integrity and professional candor who share our values, with the commitment and drive to strive today to do better than yesterday - everyday.
