Job Description

This role offers a range of $69,000 to $76,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications such as experience, education, certifications, and skills, as well as geographic considerations.

We have an opening for a Research Chemist at our state-of-the-art Research & Development facility in West Chicago, IL. We are looking for anentry level UV / EB Coatings and Adhesives Development Chemistin our growing Coatings and Adhesives division, so we invite you to be a part of this exciting and growing team! As aR&D Chemist you will be responsible for:

  • Developing UV / EB / LED Curable Coatings and Adhesives while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Conductingvarious tests including formulation, small batch manufacturing, analytical, and coated print testing
  • Providingtechnical information and support to customers to help in the design, qualification, and troubleshooting duringproduct development and qualification
  • Evaluating raw materials and optimize formulations for cost savings opportunities
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation of experiments, test results, and project progress
  • Maintain laboratory equipment
  • Participatingin industry conferences and staying informed about emerging technologies in UV/EB/LED coatings and adhesives acrossmultiple market segments

Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or an equivalent degree
  • 0-5years of experience formulating UV/ EB Coatings, Adhesives, and/or Inks preferred but will train
  • Excellent math and science, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to follow directions and work independently as well as on a team
  • The ability to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols
  • Ability to research, interpret and apply technical data
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinkingskills

In addition to these qualifications, we will consider it a plus if you have:

  • Microsoft Word,Excel and Power Point proficiency
  • Data Science or database design and usage aplus
  • SAP knowledge
  • MiniTab or statistical analysis experience
