About the Role

The FERC Accountant ensures the project complies with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements by gathering, analyzing, and coordinating data for regulatory reports and filings. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements effectively to cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.

Duties & Responsibilities




  • Ensure compliance with Company & Project and industry HSSE policies, standards, and regulations throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Approve FERC citations for the pipeline project and submit accurate, timely certificate filings.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and submit reports, ensuring alignment with FERC regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret industry trends, regulatory updates, and other pipeline filings to assess impacts on projects.
  • Analyze new FERC pronouncements, identify potential impacts, and implement compliance strategies.
  • Prepare and file tariff changes to meet the evolving business needs of company stakeholders.
  • Work closely with commercial and business development teams to evaluate new services and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather and verify data for certificate filings, ensuring consistency with business goals.
  • Provide input for legal pleadings and support the development of rate case positions on key issues.
  • Stay current on the FERC regulatory process, emerging requirements, and industry best practices to enhance organizational knowledge.
  • Perform detailed analysis of rate filings, cost-of-service data, and economic feasibility studies for long-term projects.
  • Maintain and update the electronic tariff and informational postings website.
  • Develop responses to FERC and customer data requests, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal strategies.



Skills & Experiences




  • Strong knowledge of FERC processes, requirements, and compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Experience drafting and interpreting tariff language and commercial contracts.
  • Familiarity with economic modeling and feasibility studies for regulatory projects.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 10 or more years of experience in interstate pipeline regulatory areas.
  • Expertise in FERC regulatory processes and tariff interpretation / modification.
