Principal Cloud Systems Engineer

Criterion Systems is seeking a Senior level Cloud Systems Engineer for our Operations, Infrastructure & Support Engineering Group that will focus on building and maintaining the tooling and infrastructure used to automate the release, deployment, and upgrade processes for base cloud infrastructure.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Principal Cloud Systems Engineer: $115,000 - $183,000. Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Principal Cloud Systems Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Designing, writing and delivering Infrastructure as Code software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of the cloud environment
• Developing jobs for the deployment of various artifacts that support a continuous security updated environment
• Participating in design and architecture discussions and build environments using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible
• Automating repetitive tasks to eliminate toil and drive consistency + repeatability
• Incident response and root-cause analysis, support a blameless post-mortems culture
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Principal Cloud Systems Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability and willingness to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph
• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
• Security+ Certification or the ability to get certification within 3 months of hiring
• Experience working in a Security culture
• Experience working with appropriate scripting languages and operating systems software (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform or equivalent configuration management tools
• Should have flexibility in approach to finding solutions, ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities, and ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Strong team building skills that enable collaboration and coordination within and across teams and functions
• Ability to automate menial tasks
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Azure, AWS or similar Cloud Provider Experience
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
