Lab Assistant (Component QC Lab - Hammond)

POSITION TITLE:	Component QC Lab Assistant
DEPARTMENT:	Component QC Lab
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:	Component QC Lab Supervisor
DATE NEEDED:	Immediately

POSITION'S PRIMARY PURPOSE

Monitor and track monthly QC requirements of Apheresis products and equipment, assist Component QC MLT/MT with Bacterial Detection and splitting products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licenses: Valid Drivers License

Education: High school diploma or equivalent or BS preferred

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in blood banking, preferably in collections and/or component processing

Specific Skills: Must have blood bank knowledge and have the ability to recognize and resolve discrepant results in testing
Knowledge of automated and WB collection procedure, mathematical skills and the ability to use computer for data entry and retrieval
Ability to maintain accurate records and work well under pressure
Exhibit good product management, quality minded and excellent communication and organizational skills
