JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State Psychological Clinic is seeking a full-time Staff Therapist to provide various clinical services in a dynamic training and community mental health environment, as part of Penn State's top-rated clinical psychology doctoral training program. Penn State benefits are included. The Psychological Clinic, located on Penn State's University Park campus, provides psychological and psychiatric outpatient treatment and psychological and neuropsychological assessment for adults, families, adolescents, and children, as well as school- and community-based intervention programs. The focus of the Staff Therapist's clinical work will primarily be with children and adolescents. However, their work may expand, or shift focus to adults in the future, based on business needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
At times, the Staff Therapist may also be involved in supervision, teaching, outreach, research, training, and presentations associated with the Psychology Training Program and Psychological Clinic. The Staff Therapist may also have opportunities to travel to offsite, local settings (e.g., primary care facilities, group homes, jails, schools) to provide services and consultation if they are interested. Education and Experience: Applicants for both ranks must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); those who are license-eligible for either the LCSW or LPC will also be considered. Experience providing evidence-based treatments is required; experience with any of the following is preferred: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent Management Training (PMT), Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
