We have expanded our HR function (aka the "Talent Team") to support our organization's growth and currently have an opening for an HR Manager. The HR Manager serves as a people-forward business partner to our Commercial Stormwater (CSW) division, and reports to our Director of Employee Relations and Special Programs. This role involves delivering HR operations and solutions support within the CSW division, and driving HR initiatives that support business success, with a heavy focus on investigating and resolving employee relations issues. We are looking for a talented HR professional who can partner with division leadership on how they tackle challenges within the business unit as we scale as a fast-growing organization. As such, the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization is crucial to this strategic role. What you'll work on day-to-day
- Serve as a business partner and trusted advisor, providing guidance on all aspects of HR to managers and employees within the CSW division.
- Full cycle management of complex employee relations issues, conducting investigations into workplace concerns, policy violations, and supporting the delivery of corrective action while ensuring fair and compliant resolutions.
- Facilitate company termination and exit processes with an eye for continuous process improvement.
- Administer and manage our online exit survey platform and conduct one-to-one exit interviews.
- Compile and analyze HR trends and metrics, develop solutions, programs, and policies that align with business needs and objectives.
- Coaching managers on effective leadership practices.
- Provide coaching and feedback to employees at all levels to support development and drive high performance.
- Partnering with leaders to implement effective performance management processes.
- Support the CSW team and partner with HR Compliance COE in ensuring employee policies, practices, and procedures are up to date, recommend revisions, and provide interpretive guidance to managers and employees.
- Partner with Leave Management COE to support the leave of absence process and co-facilitate the interactive process for employees requesting accommodation.
- Provide guidance on a variety of employment and/or HR related issues (e.g., Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), harassment, Americans with Disabilities (ADA), discrimination, colleague disputes, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), etc.) to ensure delivery of effective, legally compliant resolutions.
- Provide support for organizational learning and development initiatives, including assessing divisional training needs, custom course development, and leveraging Apex's LMS (Cornerstone).
- Collaborate with Talent Team members within other Centers of Excellence (COEs) such as Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Leave Management, and Learning and Development teams to provide integrated HR solutions; share standard processes, identify and implement process improvement for broader application.
- Provide other support as needed within the Employee Relations Team for special projects and peak capacity periods as well as broader Talent Team priorities.
- Support evaluation of business challenges, help develop HR solutions and reinforce change initiatives.

What we're looking for
- BA/BS (preferably in Human Resource Management or related field).
- 6+ years of progressive HR generalist experience with at least 3 years in a senior HRBP or employee relations-heavy role.
- Strong knowledge of federal employment-related laws and regulations.
- Superb verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven business acumen employing a consultative approach.
- Ability to evaluate organizational challenges and identify innovative solutions.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Record of creativity and problem solving.
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
