Data Engineer with AI/ML

Location: Dallas TX

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Entry-Level Data Engineer with AI/ML skills to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering principles, a keen interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and a passion for working with large datasets to drive business insights and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.

* Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.

* Data Modeling: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and implement data models that support AI/ML applications and business analytics.

* ETL Processes: Develop, optimize, and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure timely and accurate data ingestion and transformation.

* AI/ML Implementation: Assist in the development and deployment of AI/ML models and algorithms to solve complex business problems and enhance data-driven decision-making.

* Data Quality and Governance: Implement data quality checks, validation, and governance practices to maintain high data standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.

* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand data needs and deliver effective data solutions.

* Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, models, processes, and workflows.

* Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering, AI, and ML technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve existing processes and solutions.

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

* Technical Skills:

* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

* Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

* Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.

* Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

* Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

* Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets to derive actionable insights.

* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data processing and analysis tasks.

* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

* Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and contribute to the success of the project.

* Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience: Internships or project experience in data engineering, AI, or ML is a plus.

* Certifications: Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud computing, or AI/ML technologies.

* Advanced Analytics: Experience with advanced analytics tools and techniques, including data visualization and statistical analysis.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
