DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

1. 
   

   Plan, assign and manage workload and activities of professional staff; provide assistance and instruction, assure accuracy and completeness, and code compliance. Monitor design staff progress with respect to adherence to schedules, hours, expended time on projects and quality of over-all product.

   Provide project management on various multi-disciplinary projects in Design Services.

   Provide professional interior design consultation and advisement to campus administrators, including vice chancellors, deans, department chairs and directors.

   
   
4. 
   

   Create and prepare design drafts, color schemes and preliminary plans for interiors; select appropriate furniture, finishes and furnishings for interior projects. Develop project designs, construction documents, specifications and bid documents for interior design projects.

   
   
5. 
   

   Write specifications for the purchase of equipment and materials involving interior design; approve specifications.

   
   
6. 
   

   Oversee work of outside contractors in the installation of equipment, flooring, furnishings, wall and window treatment, etc. for compliance with contract documents.

   
   
7. 
   

   May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

   
   

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in interior design or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  Master's degree in interior design.

  Experience in light design and specialized drafting.

  
  
• 
  

  Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
