Job Summary
The IT Project Manager manages IT-focused projects from inception through implementation and closeout.

Primary Objectives
  • Coordinate multiple projects and their interdependencies ensuring all assigned projects are completed according to enterprise standards, meet project objectives, and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Effectively collect, measure, track, and communicate operational metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for use by business unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage projects throughout the project life cycle and including appropriate communication, scheduling, resource allocation, scope definition, and proactive identification and remediation of obstacles to project delivery.
  • Track milestones and tasks with assigned teams and ensure project milestones are achieved on time and on budget.
  • Work with senior management and key stakeholders to define project scope, cost and value, and business case deliverables that support departmental goals.
  • Develop and revise project plans, monitor and report out on project budgets and financial health, work with users to understand problems, focus on issue resolution, and escalate issues to leadership as needed to meet timelines.
  • Proactively manage change in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise mitigation actions and/or contingency plans.
  • Manage business case creation and sign off including project cost and benefit estimation as well as required resources to achieve project goals. Assess and recommend staffing levels and make the appropriate resource requests if necessary during project implementation life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors. Create and execute training plans to ensure that each team member's skills and body of knowledge remains up-to-date for the organization.
  • Conduct project post-mortems with project team and other key stakeholders and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Track and publish project KPIs for use by the business process managers with the Business unit leaders in order to demonstrate project management value on individual projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Management or similar degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in directly-related field required
Licenses and Certifications
  • Project Management Professional Certification or other recognized certification or equivalent years of experience required
Work Experience
  • 5+ years' project management experience, including delivering both IT enabled and business process improvement projects required
  • Global transportation and logistics management experience preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Familiar with various project management methodologies: Waterfall, Agile, RUP, ADM.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management tools (Clarizen, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Azure Dev Ops, Jira, TFS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including effective delivery of executive level reports and in-person presentations.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work as part of a geographically dispersed team.
  • Excellent communication and coalition building skills with an ability to balance, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to build strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated skills in resource organization, project/task prioritization, and schedule development.
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks on highly visible projects with aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to work a non-standard work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Zone 1: Starting rate $55.00 up to $68.00 for highly qualified candidates
