As a Cafe Manager, you will hold duties related to the supervision of the food service operation of a medium to large volume location. The cafe manager ensures the standards of excellence are met, supervises associates, and supports the Director with responsibilities such as ordering, inventory, marketing and training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Manages cafe operations * Hires, supervises, trains, and coaches associates * Assists with interviewing and hiring * Manage call outs and assign daily staff responsibilities * Manager associates job performance * Responsible for all Cafe opening/closing responsibilities * Verifies and ensure employee timesheets are updated and correct * Ensures compliance with proper sanitation and cleaning standards * Oversee general maintenance of cafe food service equipment * Responsible for planning, marketing and executing special events/promotions in the cafe * Ensure signage is accurate & informative. * Updates digital screens with the daily menus & marketing * Oversees all of Mobile, Kiosk & Digital Technology * Completes daily reconciliation of multiple cash banks and reports. Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed. * Completes Annual Benchmarking analysis * Prepares the end of day managers reports * Responsible for all the Front of the House orders & inventory * Operates within the budget and identifies new ways to improve the business. * Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills * Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * 2 years of food service experience including 1 year at the management level. * Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations. * Supervising, scheduling, training and coaching skills * Ability to work independently as well as in a team * Ability to multi-task as well as stay on task and concentrate with constant interruptions * Knowledge of basic work area operations, company and client policies and procedures * Strong understanding of the collective bargaining agreement * Knowledge of Micros & Kronos is preferred * Operational knowledge of the cash register, cash handling procedures, and reconciliation of multiple cash banks and reports. * Operational knowledge of food service equipment and maintenance requirements. * Servsafe or department of health certification is preferred. * Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office: word, excel and PowerPoint outstanding verbal and written communication skills * Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment * Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior Associates at Restaurant Associates are offered many fantastic benefits.
