The Clinical Dietitian I oversee the nutrition care for inpatients, residents, and/or outpatients, performing nutritional assessments, and managing the physician's orders for therapeutic diets. This role provides individual and group nutrition interventions, considering cultural, ethnic, and personal preferences. The Clinical Dietitian I participate in an interdisciplinary team to monitor and revise nutrition care plans as needed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Program: Child/Adolescent and Adult Mental Health Recovery Inpatient
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care to patients.
- Conducts nutrition assessments and follow-ups for patients with increased risk according to Rogers' policies and best practice standards, documenting all care in the Electronic Health Record.
- Performs the nutrition care process, including assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and monitoring/evaluation.
- Develops and implements individualized nutrition care plans based on patient medical goals and objectives.
- Recommends transitional feedings (enteral to oral intake and vice-versa) and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for appropriate administration of nutrition therapies.
- Educates patients and/or family members on nutritional needs as indicated.
- Serves as a resource for medical staff and allied health professionals regarding nutritional status and needs.
- Adheres to all Roger's policies and procedures, including confidentiality and patient's rights.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide optimal, patient centered care.
- Participates in the Rogers Operating Systems (ROS) program and follows standard workflow processes.
- Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory guidelines.
- Observes weekend on-call and holiday rotation expectations.
- Partners with culinary staff to ensure modified diets are accurate and addresses patient concerns.
- Meets Clinical Dietitian I annual requirements within 12 months of hire, as outlined in RBH Registered Dietitian Clinical Ladder Portfolio Checklist.
Additional Job Description:
Education/Training Requirements:
- Master's degree in Dietetics, or related field, or bachelor's degree if licensed prior to 2024.
- One (1) year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a clinical setting preferred.
- Obtain and maintain state certification (up to 90-days post hire allowed).
- Aware of and understand Joint Commission and other regulatory agency compliance regulations.
- Formal training in crisis prevention and intervention is required within sixty (60) days of date of hire. Annual recertification is required.
- Dietitians working in a Community based Residential Facility (CBRF), Residential Care Center (RCC) program, or pool staff are required to complete CBRF first aid, fire safety, and standard precautions within ninety (90) days of hire.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required within thirty (30) days of date of hire. Annual re-certification is required.
