The Enterprise Internal Financial Reporting Manager will be:

Coordinating all deliverables associated with the monthly close process for the Hospital, including processing journal entries and conducting variance analysis. Collaborating with operating departments as needed and ensuring seamless coordination with other Finance departments (Budget, Payroll, Reimbursement, Patient Financial Services, Pricing/Contracting, etc.). -
Leading internal reporting requirements, including distributing the monthly financial management narrative and preparing PowerPoint presentations for the Hospital, including Board meetings such as the Finance Committee. -
Leading and coordinating all deliverables associated with the year-end audit process, overseeing handoffs among Finance stakeholder groups, collaborating with affiliate partners (Physicians' Organization, Boston Children's Health Physicians) as appropriate, and maintaining daily communication with the external audit firm. -
Identifying and remediating risks within the internal control infrastructure while collaborating with the internal audit firm as needed. -
Providing oversight for the cash management cycle and leading process improvement efforts to enhance the control and application of unapplied cash, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. -
Participating in and supporting deliverables associated with the coordination of FinRep and Budget team partnerships for monthly budget-to-actual analyses. -
Leading strategic and project management efforts for implementing new guidance and pronouncements, spearheading collaboration with internal teams to assess business impacts, and coordinating with affiliated partners to ensure accounting and reporting consistency across the consolidated Children's Medical Center Corporation (CMCC) enterprise. -
Evaluating, documenting, and ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures for the Hospital. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert and preparing technical accounting position papers in support of CMCC's accounting policy requirements. -
Processing and/or approving journal entries for designated areas of accountability. Completing and/or reviewing account reconciliations within assigned responsibilities. -
Handling Ad Hoc Requests: Completing other duties as assigned, aligned with departmental priorities and strategic goals. -
Supervising & Building Teams: Providing oversight to staff in the Financial Reporting Department, leading staffing activities including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, performance feedback, and mentoring. -
Ensuring Operational & Budgetary Compliance: Overseeing project and departmental milestones while ensuring adherence to approved budgets. Managing internal operating controls, processes, practices, and reporting for Boston Children's Hospital. -
Recommending and implementing improvements to existing policies and controls to ensure they remain current, effective, and compliant with standards.
To qualify, you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree is required in the area of accouting, Finance or a related field
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- Seven years of financial reporting, auditing and/or accounting experience is required
- Strong project management and leadership skills, and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, developing timelines for implementation, identifying resource needs and potential impacts, and managing their progress.
