JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scholar with a strong background in microfluidics, micro- and nanofabrication, and surface chemistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading cutting-edge research projects focused on the development and application of advanced experimental microfluidic platform for nanoparticle synthesis.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

  • In addition to research activities, the candidate will also be expected to contribute to proposal writing, including grant applications.

  • Play a significant role in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering is required by hire date.

  • Demonstrated expertise in micro- and nanofabrication, surface chemistry, and optical characterization techniques.

  • Experience in proposal writing and student mentoring is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication skills, a strong publication record, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative research environment.

Additional Information:
