Overview of this Position:

The role of Sr. CAD Drafter/Designer is to establish and maintain a comprehensive engineering drawing library to house master as-built drawings, and engineering project drawings/records. Responsible to aid the Engineering Manager in compiling processes and standards as well as drawing templates, symbol libraries, and master drawing files in multiple disciplines: architectural, HVAC, piping, electrical, mechanical/HVAC, P&IDs.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• 3 - 5 years' experience in AutoCAD working on civil, architectural, mechanical, facility drawings.
• AA/AS Degree in Mechanical Design Drafting.
• Knowledge of industry codes, standards and engineering/drafting best practices.
• Autodesk Vault or other drawing management system experience.
• Autodesk 360 knowledge/experience desired.
• Intensely detail orientated, self-directed, organized.
• Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience working in a pharmaceutical or other highly regulated environment preferred.
• Knowledge in general construction.
• Autodesk Revit or other BIM experience helpful.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Produce and edit facilities and utilities drawings for multiple disciplines in AutoCAD format.
• Perform walk-downs to verify drawings and as-built conditions. This entails physical verification of dimensions in the plant using measuring tools, recognition of piping, equipment in the field and translation of those elements into proper presentation in print/CAD.
• Reconcile red-lines and incorporate completed project turnover packages into master record drawings.
• Write policy and procedures regarding engineering drawing management, instructions to engineers and architects, CAD standards.
• Set up GRAM title block and symbol libraries.
• Gather existing drawings in both hardcopy and electronic formats and set up preliminary and final AutoCAD drawings for all major disciplines and building systems.
• Investigate and make recommendations for electronic drawing management solution.
• Operate and maintain drawing scanning and plotting equipment and supplies.
