Job Purpose

Procurement Sourcing Specialist must work independently and with others to competitively bid outsourced parts amongst suppliers to realize the best value to the company for providing PS&P accessory kits. Evaluate responses and make decisions on sourcing selection to support the business direction, maintain positive business relationship with the suppliers, and exercise signature commitment authority in accordance with corporate guidelines. Manage part set up, cost maturation and stakeholder collaboration to ensure QCD is achieved by in-warehouse date.

Key Accountabilities



  • Represent Honda with minimal supervision in interactions with suppliers to request, review, negotiate, and approve quotations that set the accessory kit costs of global ATV, SxS, PE, Marine, & NA MC new model projects. Deliver results that consistently meet defined cost targets. Prepare cost analyses and effectively negotiate with suppliers/development engineers to contribute to target achievement.
  • Create and execute supplier / part / commodity strategies under the direction of Accessory Unit Lead, to realize cost reduction, mitigation, avoidance and unit achievement of annual team Quality, Cost, Delivery business plan objectives.
  • Propose maker layout selections to Accessory Unit Lead by considering numerous factors including quality, cost, delivery, development, and strategy that result in determining which supplier will provide accessory kits. Support supplier costing activity though IWD and transfer to e-quote.
  • Manage new parts set up and maturations process to ensure parts are ordered and in warehouse on time. Lead coordination and communication with internal customers to ensure smooth transition at IWD.
  • Contribute occasionally to spec maturation with suppliers/development engineers by providing input on design changes that impact cost to provide critical part design at optimized cost.
  • Provide support to team members; assist management in accomplishing special projects. As a special project arises, provides appropriate level of support based on management direction.



Qualifications, Experience and Skills



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and 2 years of applied work experience
  • 3+ years related work experience preferably in Powersports or Automotive field
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Must be able to operate with high level of confidentiality
  • General knowledge of cost, budget and/or financial information management
  • Strong analytical skills (logical through process, reasonability, timeliness)
  • Time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills (logical thought process, reasonability, timeliness)
  • Effective negotiation skills and the ability to summarize key issues for management review
  • Develop innovative approaches to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Knowledge of SxS and ATV market
  • Ability to read blue prints and understand specification requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills



Workstyle



  • Hybrid work style 60% on-site/ 40% remote or as management defines
  • Travel: Average of 1-3 times quarterly. Amount varies based on project demands/responsibilities, conferences, etc.; includes possible overseas travel.
  • Physical: Primarily works at a desk or scope; frequent keyboarding. Limited kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching or bending.
  • Hazards: Risks found in a typical office & shop setting. May be exposed to explosives/flammables, pressurized equipment, toxic chemicals and moving parts.
  • Overtime: Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.
  • Maintains professional conduct and follows all departmental, safety DEPARTMENT, and COMPANY policies, Procedures, AND rules.
