Position Title: Sr. Dining Services Director II - McCallie School - Chattanooga, TN

Salary: $85000-$95000/yr.

Join Our Team as Senior Director of Dining Services - McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN

About the Role:
Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for food service and student success? We are looking for a dynamic Senior Director of Dining Services (Sr DDS) to manage our dining operations at McCallie School, an exceptional educational institution for boys in grades 6-12. In this role, you'll be at the heart of delivering outstanding dining experiences, all while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. If you thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving setting and are dedicated to building relationships and achieving operational goals, this is your opportunity!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and motivate a talented team to deliver top-tier dining services that enhance the experience for students, staff, and the broader McCallie community.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on profitability, safety, and employee engagement to meet or exceed performance goals.
  • Work closely with school administrators and district leadership to build strong, lasting relationships, sharing best practices and fostering community involvement.
  • Balance risk and reward when making decisions, always considering long-term impact and aligning with the school's mission and values.
  • Lead by example, fostering transparency, safety, and a culture of learning. You'll hold your team accountable while supporting them in their development.
  • Represent Chartwells within the district and community, attending key events and being a proactive presence to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Oversee the financial health of dining services, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and budgeting to meet financial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, conducting regular audits and making sure all policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Drive development and succession planning for your team, ensuring they have the tools to succeed and grow within the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Compliance with USDA Professional Standards for the assigned accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience in catering, particularly in large-scale or institutional settings.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships effectively, as this role will serve as the primary day-to-day contact and representative for the school's dining services.
  • Prior experience as a General Manager, Assistant Director, or Director is ideal for this role.
  • Experience working in an educational environment, ideally in K-12 or higher education, is highly preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of management experience as an Assistant Director, Director or General Manager in food service, hospitality, or a related field is required
  • Proven success in food service management, preferably in K-12 dining operations.
  • Strong business acumen, with a track record of leading teams and delivering results in both customer service and financial performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, write, and speak effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Proactive, resilient, and passionate about promoting an inclusive and positive work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS software, with the ability to adapt to new technology.
