Location: Parker Aerospace Group - DSD-Irvine, CA Manufacturing Technician II Position Summary:

Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies developmental and production electronics components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the essential duties listed below.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoots, digital, analog, RF, fiber optic and high voltage circuitry to component level using schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
  • Conducts detailed tests on items such as RF cables, modules, continuity test (Cirris or hand), controllers, and dispensers.
  • Performs ESS testing including vibration and temp cycling as required.
  • Sets up standard test apparatus or devises, test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production models.
  • Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Assembles boxes, test boxes and bulkheads as required by supervisor.
Job Specifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required for the position.

Education and Years of Experience:

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations. Ability to communicate in English.
  • Ability to write operating procedures and instructions. The ability to read engineering drawings including schematics, and acceptance test procedures is a must.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple activities. Ability to produce accurate results and complete tasks on time.
  • As a member of the organization, the employee is expected to work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing and is in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addressing others by name, title or other respectful identifier and; respecting the diversity of our work force in actions and name.
  • Will be required to interface and relate well with all employees and multiple departments and levels within the Company. Position requires strong teamwork/cooperative abilities, as well as the ability to work independently. Will interact with management, customers and QC department personnel.
  • Personal Computer literate. Spreadsheets, word processing and presentations (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to operate volt meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, high voltage power supplies and other equipment associated with a normal test environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, pound or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The work area is usually subject to air conditioning / heating. Will occasionally work with voltages up to 15000 volts.

  • Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California, New York, Washington. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations.
  • The wage range for this role considers allowances for a number of factors, including but not limited to required experience, skill level, prior training, licensure/certifications, education, and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $22.16/hour - $36.92/hour.
