Job Overview Join our team in "Doing the Most Good" as a Dock Foreman at our Adult Rehabilitation Center. We're seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Dock Foreman to oversee all dock operations. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient material handling, maintaining safety standards, and maximizing the resale value of donations. You'll be responsible for supervising dock workers, coordinating loading/unloading operations, and ensuring proper distribution of materials. Pay Rate: $14.50/hr. Status: Full Time, 40 Hours per Week Key Responsibilities Safety & Operations Management
- Maintain order and safety on the dock for all loading and unloading operations
- Supervise forklift operations and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
- Oversee weight scale operations and ensure proper recording of weights
- Supervise the unloading of all trucks and CCC units
- Coordinate loading of mattresses, trailers, and bales
- Schedule pickup arrangements before storage reaches capacity
Inventory Distribution
- Direct incoming materials to warehouse, dump, or As-Is sales locations
- Collaborate with store supervisor on item selection for As-Is sales
- Ensure optimal distribution of materials for maximum resale value
- Manage material flow and storage efficiency
Team Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate dock workers
- Maintain proper decorum of behavior and language according to Salvation Army policy
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
- Foster a safe and productive work environment
Qualifications Education & Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Two years of transportation, warehouse, and/or loading dock experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent understanding of safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Capable of presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Basic math skills including computing rates, ratios, and percentages
- Strong problem-solving abilities in standardized situations
