**Pay Range is $20-$23 hourly, depending on experience**

Schedule for the position is 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

Summary/Primary Purpose: Position will perform City Fund accounts payable functions and will assist the City Fund Supervisor with clerical functions and other assigned general accounting duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Perform functions related to accounts payable for Omaha City Fund, Booth Manor, 3612 Cuming Limited Partnership, Omaha Inflection Point/Stores, Council Bluffs and Fremont corps including, but not limited to, the following:

    • Secure proper approvals that support each check
    • Code all vendor invoices, vouchers, claims, & check requests for payment
    • Enter, edit and update invoices, vouchers, claims & check requests into the accounting system
    • Process checks and batch with supporting documentation
    • Obtain signature on check & mail payment
    • Scan checks and supporting documentation into Content Central and verify completeness


  2. Prepare schedules and provide selected copies of checks and supporting documentation to Compliance Accountant as requested.
  3. File all purchase orders in numerical order.
  4. Update vendor files reviewing vendor list for duplications and delete duplicate/unused vendors in consultation with supervisor.
  5. Run unpaid vendor list after last check run each month.
  6. Reconcile accounts payable to ensure the unpaid invoice list matches the accounts payable detail each month.
  7. Ensure proper coding for 1099 vendors and obtain a listing of payments to 1099 vendors annually.
  8. Other duties may be assigned.



Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Education and/or Experience: Minimum Associate Degree in accounting or related field and one to two years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.



  1. Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  2. Intermediate skills in Microsoft software, to include Word and Excel, as well as the ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system
  3. Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details, and filing.
  4. Good communication skills, both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  5. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.



Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Working Conditions: The work environment is a business office setting with office equipment, light traffic and moderate noise levels.
