The Financial Operations division within Business & Financial Services at UC San Diego is a multifaceted team dedicated to ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and optimization across the institution. The division is comprised of the following teams: Cash & Merchant Services: Manages bank account reconciliation and administration, Ensures PCI compliance, Oversees merchant services. Accounts Receivable: Handles billing and collections, excluding student and patient receivables. Cash Management: Manages federal cash draws for the entire institution. Responsible for letter of credit billing and cash draws. Financial Operations Solutions: Oversees the administration and configuration of the project portfolio management subledger including financial aid projects, general projects, sponsored projects, and capital projects. Focuses on process and systems optimization. Provides data analysis and functional requirements support to the entire Financial Operations division. The Director, Banking Operations & Accounts Receivable serves a key role within the Financial Operations division of Business and Financial Services (BFS) at UC San Diego. This position provides strategic direction and leadership across multiple teams, including Cash & Merchant Services, PCI Compliance, Accounts Receivable, and Banking Administration & Reconciliation. As a representative of UC San Diego, the Director collaborates closely with the University of California Office of the President (UCOP), other UC campuses, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with UC system-wide financial processes and compliance standards. With a focus on strategic planning, client service, and operational innovation, the Director leads initiatives to optimize and streamline processes across cash management, banking operations, and accounts receivable. This role includes developing policies and overseeing accounting practices that reinforce financial accuracy and integrity. Additionally, the Director ensures UC San Diego's adherence to the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards, manages banking relationships, and administers reconciliations essential to the university's financial health. The Director plays a vital role in accounting oversight and management, contributing to monthly and year-end close processes, enhancing financial reporting, and maintaining effective internal controls. Leveraging advanced financial systems such as the Oracle Financial System and UC's Common Chart of Accounts, the Director ensures accurate classification, consolidation, and reporting of financial data to maintain consistency with GAAP, GASB, and applicable laws and regulations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $94,400 - $176,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $45.21 - $84.67 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
