The Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Patient Experience Innovation Lab (PXIL) conducts academic and applied research, including developing and implementing psychometrically valid measures to evaluate psychiatric patient care across a range of inpatient and outpatient services. The Research Assistant will play a critical role in supporting research initiatives and PXIL operations through tasks such as protocol preparation, study management, participant interactions, data analysis, and dissemination of findings.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Research Administration
    • 1.1 Assist in preparing and submitting IRB protocols, amendments, and renewals.
  • 2. Study Management
    • 2.1 Coordinate ongoing research studies, including participant recruitment, scheduling, and retention efforts.
  • 3. Data Management and Analysis
    • 3.1 Assist with data entry, cleaning, and organization for statistical analysis.
  • 4. Dissemination of Research
    • 4.1 Assist in preparing presentations, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for conferences and publications.
  • 5. General Support
    • 5.1 Manage project timelines and coordinate meetings.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in psychology, public health, social sciences, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE

Demonstrated experience in research (e.g., through coursework, internships, or professional roles).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Qualtrics XM Experience Management Software.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously on individual tasks and collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Experience with data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, Stata).
Familiarity with IRB processes and ethical research practices.
Prior experience in psychiatric or healthcare-related research.
