System Engineer

Auria is looking to hire a System Engineer to join our team out of Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.

This position will be responsible for establishing new interfaces between external elements, including space and terrestrial sensors. The System Engineer will work with their leadership to ensure the resolution of issues and challenges that may be encountered. They will ensure that the ICDs and IDDs created are to the appropriate standards required of the program. They are expected to develop various behavioral diagrams to understand and document the requirements and create the ICDs/IDDs.

Essential Functions:

• Create requirements and capture them in DOORS in sufficient detail to provide a clear understanding to the implementation teams
• Develop behavioral diagrams to understand the requirements and behavior of the interface
• Develop and update multiple Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Documents
• Attend interface working group meetings with MDA customers and representatives of assigned external element engineering organizations and provide support to program integration and test-related efforts for the associated interface
• May be assigned to support other interface engineers in developing ICDs for other BMDS Elements, support requirements engineering, use case development, and logical architecture modeling tasks as SE department tasking requires
• Support spiral leadership to ensure interface artifacts and system assessment tasks required for the assigned sensor interface are completed when required

Basic Qualifications:

• Current/active security clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience,
• or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience,
• or a PhD and 1 years of experience,
• or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Systems Engineering or related discipline
• Demonstrated Systems Engineering skills and experience with interface engineering, including:
• Authoring of Interface Control Documents (ICDS) and Interface Design Documents (IDDS)
• Message definition and processing rules
• Message formatting (e.g., XML, VMF, et al.)
• Physical/network specifications and models, to include the ISO OSI model
• Physical/network topologies and devices
• Network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, et al) is a must
• Requirements engineering, including experience working with IBM Rational's Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)

Salary Range: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level ($99,000 - $137,000).
