As a Senior Tax Manager at Ryerson, you will be responsible for managing the ASC 740 process and preparing the consolidated federal and all applicable state and local income tax return filings.

This position reports directly to the VP of Tax.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, review, and manage the preparation of the consolidated federal and all applicable state and local income tax return filings
  • Effectively manage the compliance process to develop strategies to achieve continuous improvement with respect to efficiency and quality
  • Establish and maintain a system of coordinated interaction with the business units to stay abreast of all tax-related issues
  • Coordinating with outside consultants on special projects and performing certain calculations within the returns (e.g. Transfer Pricing, LIFO, Depreciation)
  • Quarterly ASC 740 accounting
  • Tax planning and other special projects
  • Mentoring of department personnel
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA and/or MST preferred
  • 7+ years, a mix of public accounting and industry preferred
  • Prior management experience, preferably within a corporate tax environment
  • Experience with SAP and OneSource Tax Software preferred
  • Overall proficiency with software systems, including competence in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual capable of monitoring and prioritizing competing tasks and projects
  • Team player attitude and adept at multi-level communication



Salary: $113,000-$160,000 annually. A starting salary higher than $113,00 annually is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
