Exciting opportunities exist within the Verizon Business Technology Solutions organization. As a Principal Solutions Architect, you will be an integral part of a talented team collaborating with our internal clients on their Digital Transformation journey. We are an in-house consulting group focused on business process enablement, responsible for identifying and creating process automation improvements that will enhance our efficiency and effectiveness. Applying analytical rigor, creativity, and structured problem-solving, you will engage with leaders across Global Solutions to address their business challenges.

What you'll be doing:

You will seek to build consultative technical relationships with partner organizations, effectively becoming a trusted adviser. The Principal Architect will employ Business Analysis techniques to understand the business objectives and technical requirements and match these to process improvement solutions. You will perform Technical Project Manager functions to oversee the implementation of automation and process improvement initiatives across the organization.

  • An integral part of a team dedicated to transforming our Technology Solutions services portfolio utilizing ServiceNow in innovation, strategy, and product and process automation and improvement.

  • Champion integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution using best practices.

  • Accelerate our organizational culture around DevOps, inner-sourcing, Agile, Design Thinking, and improved collaboration.

  • Lead research efforts to identify, analyze, evaluate, and champion strategies and initiatives to deliver significant growth.

  • Independently lead cross-functional leadership teams to address and resolve key strategic challenges and develop multi-year strategic visions and roadmaps.

  • Develop individual skill sets and expand product knowledge to maximize value and deliver quality services to our clients and business partners. This includes attaining designated certification requirements, attending product-specific training, reviewing technical literature, and obtaining hands-on experience.

  • Responsible for providing thought leadership and structure for ambiguous business problems and working with peer team members and stakeholders across all levels and functions to translate strategies into specific, results-driven initiatives.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of experience as a technical Solution Architect in an IT infrastructure environment or equivalent experience in a Client-facing or IT staff role (including working as a member of a professional services or IT engineering team).

  • Four or more years of hands-on experience developing within the ServiceNow platform.

  • Understanding and experience with the broader ServiceNow ecosystem, including extensive hands-on experience with the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) platform.

  • Experience effectively communicating and discussing complex business and technical topics to all levels of the organization.

  • Strong competency in generating solution documentation for internal stakeholders and clients through diagrams, slides, documents, and spreadsheets.

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies for scalable, distributed systems.

  • Experience with Technical Project Management practices and processes.

  • Experience with broad technology concepts, including GenAI, software-defined networking, programming languages (HTML, Java, Python), APIs, information security, and collaboration tools.

  • Experience in and understanding of data and information security - especially as it relates to issues within businesses.

  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud, SDN, IoT, and IT technology space.

  • Ability to strategically align project outcomes to broader business goals and champion support for broader organizational decisions.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • MA/MS degree in engineering or computer science.

  • Experience running multiple projects or deals under tight timelines.

  • Security, architecture, and industry certifications include AWS Solution Architect, Business Analysis Certifications (IIBA ECBA, CCBA, CBAP), Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, PMI PMP, PMI ACP, SAFe, OEM certifications, ITIL Foundations

  • Hands-on experience. It could be implementing or designing two or more process areas: ITIL Operations Framework, SAFe Agile, Project and Portfolio Management, or Digital Transformation strategies.

  • Experience evaluating prospective IT infrastructure and delivering the appropriate evaluation, ROI, savings, proposed operational evolution, and associated process management

Where you'll be working
