Accountant-Crop

The Opportunity: The purpose of this role is to support accounting activities in the commissions area, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations, while liaising with internal and external customers. Responsibilities include processing agency commissions, verifying commission schedules, reconciliations, transactions, analyzing data, and special projects for management. The role also involves customer service, testing new programming, verifying the accuracy of commission calculations, and assisting with audit requests.

  • Location: Ramsey, Minnesota, United States
  • Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week {M-F 37.5 hours}
  • The salary range for this role is between $60,000-$90,000

Your new role

  • Contribute to the development of the team's business plan to maximize productivity and performance.
  • Ensure all processes are documented in a standard format and maintained in an accessible fashion.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced colleagues to increase capability and share knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements to meet financial obligations.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to continuously improve efficiency.
  • Assist with special investigations/projects as assigned.
  • Participate in internal meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
  • Assist in risk management of the business.
  • *Contribute to successful completion of accounting procedures by accurately preparing various commission calculations, assisting in gathering and analyzing financial information from various sources
  • Participate and manage the completion of various commission related projects and requirements by sharing knowledge and expertise, providing guidance on commission related matters, building relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Some relevant experience in a similar accounting-related role.
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Current or pending certifications as an accountant.
  • Advanced Knowledge in Excel

Preferred Work Experience

  • Experience in the insurance industry, preferably crop insurance is desired but not essential.
  • Accounting experience within a complex financial services organization.
  • Proficient in data entry and management.
  • Proven experience in taking active accountability for own workload.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience.
