Job Summary

We are currently looking for aManufacturing Engineer to join our team onsite in our Wood Plant in Holland, MI. Posting lists minimum requirements.

The Manufacturing Engineer will help optimize production processes and project management as we integrate new equipment into our wood plant, apply engineering and problem-solving skills, and help guide our leadership of the future. This hands-on role requires efficiently operating advanced machinery to sustain our productivity, collaborating with colleagues to deliver solutions, and engaging with customers to meet their needs. Experience managing complex initiatives and change in fast-paced manufacturing environments is essential for helping ensure the success of our operations and future goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze product and manufacturing designs to determine optimal solutions, considering cost, efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Climb/bend/balance/twist/reach/lift.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product engineering, production, and suppliers, to ensure seamless manufacturing integration.
  • Conduct manufacturing tests and analyze results to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, including material selection, tooling design, and equipment specification.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, including Enterprise Change Management (ECMs), Request for Expenditures (RFEs), and cost analyses, to support project implementation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in manufacturing materials, equipment, and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues in areas assigned and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or similarfield of study
  • Education Equivalency: Associate degree plus 2 years manufacturing engineering or similar experience OR 4 years additional manufacturing engineering or similar experience
  • 2 years manufacturing engineering or similarexperience
  • Ability to climb, bend, balance, twist, reach, lift products or other objects on the manufacturing floor an lift, push or pull product that could weigh up to 100 pounds
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAD experience
  • More than 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience working with hand tools
  • Experience with lean concepts
  • Project Management experience
  • Possesses active listening capabilities to learn about issues from the production team and identify solutions.
