VP, Microglia Cell Therapy

In this role, you will be an important member of the Research Leadership team. You will oversee our microglia cell research programs, providing strategic input and managing a team of scientists. Currently, we are exploring the use of microglia to replace cells lost due to disease or dysfunction; in the future, we aim to utilize our editing platform to address neuroinflammation. Your objective is to develop advanced cell therapeutics that target neurodegenerative diseases and aim to enhance human health.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive the strategy and execution of BlueRock's cell therapy pipeline from concept to IND filing.

  • Lead scientific direction, hiring, and budgeting for your team.
  • Provide strategic input into Neuroscience cell programs.
  • Evaluate cell:disease pairings and integrate them into a research plan.
  • Mentor direct reports and promote BlueRock's values of urgency, integrity, community, and courage.
  • Build and maintain relationships with leaders in the organization.
  • Establish efficient processes, standards, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with Development and Technical Operations.
Minimum Requirements:
  • PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Stem Cell Biology, or M.D. with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading a program.
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical/biotechnology with scientific excellence.
  • Experience with IND-enabling studies and filings.
  • Deep knowledge of developmental neuroscience and pluripotent stem cell biology.
  • Expertise in neurological disease, neuroinflammation, regenerative medicine, assay development, biomarkers, CMC, and regulatory.
  • Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership experience in a collaborative, high-growth environment.
  • Innovative, results-oriented, and critical thinking skills.
