UGSI Chemical Feed, Inc. The role of the Production Technician is to perform various functions within the manufacturing, warehouse, and packaging operations. This position will mostly work from schedules, shop orders, established procedures, blueprints, specifications, and written and/or verbal instructions. This role reports directly to a Manufacturing Manager and is based in Vineland, NJ. The Production Technician will be a reliable, hard-working, and motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and dedication to a team environment. Training will be provided for all essential job functions.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assemble/package products in a safe and timely manner.
  • Measure, cut, and glue/thread plastic and metal plumbing.
  • Measure, drill and tap holes according to specifications.
  • Fasten assemblies together using screws, nuts, and bolts.
  • Wire complete systems following specific drawings.
  • Cross-train in other areas within the manufacturing facility.
  • Learn safe operation of more complex equipment and machines.
  • Crate & package equipment for shipment.
  • Pull parts for orders and production.
  • Put away parts that are received.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to accurately perform shop math.
  • Recognize and safely/properly use hand and power tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as required from time to time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Three to five years’ manufacturing experience or equivalent.
  • Read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Computer skills that include proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel).
  • Forklift experience.

Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, speak and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate the equipment and tools required for this position.
  • Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
  • Must maintain clean and professional appearance while working with customers, vendors and colleagues.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
  • Light Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions; and
  • Exposure to liquid and dry chemicals and substances associated with water and wastewater treatment, including permanganate, polymers, sodium hypochlorite, and liquid ammonium sulfate, among others.

This position is non-exempt. The base hourly wage for this position is $18.00 per hour. Compensation is dependent on skill level. Benefits package and incentives are provided.
